A short film, 2006.
It’s Saturday night in a beach side suburb. Michelle and Simone navigate another night of parties, boredom and surf culture. When morning comes everything that is different is still the same.
Made on a small budget with a bunch of teenagers running around in the dark, amidst rain, severe storms, and using a very expensive camera that broke down repeatedly. It was hard work. Smile for me is a personal story about the dark side of my teenage years.
Funded by the NSW Film and Television Office Young Filmmakers Fund. Written by Rachael Turk, produced by Karinn Cheung and directed by Anna Fraser.
